This was my favorite film at Dark Carnival 2009. I write short fiction and have a great appreciation for the short film–so much to convey in such a limited space! On the other hand, even though the time frame is so short, sustaining interest and tension for that long in one physical space–albeit one that’s moving through a larger space–is so tough to do in film, and yet this one pulls it off. The characters here are wonderfully drawn. We know these people–heck, I’ve *been* these people–and they are heartbreaking even as you want to smack them. The sight of the busy road as they are about to emerge from the forest–that’s particularly poignant for me.
Anyway, great job from everyone. I look forward to seeing more from all involved.
